Camp Shawu is situated in the 15 000 hectare Mpanamana Concession of the Kruger National Park.
Camp Shawu is a quaint luxury camp overlooking the Mpanamana Dam. The camp has a communal swimming pool, bar and a comfortable lounge. The camp was named after an elephant who roamed the area for about 60 years, he had some of the largest tusks ever recorded on an elephant.
Camp Shawu has only five units which can accommodate a maximum of ten people in total. The units are made of rustic materials and blend into the beautiful landscape which surrounds the camp. Each unit has its own viewing deck from where you can watch the animals that come to the dam, including a resident pride of lions.
Night drives are on offer as well as morning and evening walks.
