Afsaal Picnic Site Southern Region

Afsaal Picnic Site is a popular picnic site situated on the H3 road between Skukuza and Malelane. The name means 'A Place to rest'.

Afsaal Picnic Site is has toilets, gas hire, shaded tables and chairs, a small shop and a takeaway. It can be busy in peak season, so food orders can take a while. A Leopard was seen stealing bacon off a 'skottel' here, so be alert for the unexpected. There are no fences around the picnic site, so keep an eye on small children and make sure they do not stray. Afsaal Picnic Site was opened in 1985.
